Venessia B. Rieper, MA, LCP
License #87467

For the past 15 years Venessia has worked in the mental health field and dedicated her life to advocating for individuals and families who are struggling with mental health diagnoses, trauma, and behavioral issues. Throughout the course of her career she has worked with a variety of different populations and now specializes in individual mental health counseling and therapy for both adults and children.

In 1998 Venessia began working for a local non-profit organization based out of Denver, CO which sparked her initial passion for working with the IDD (Intellectual Developmentally Delayed) population as well as dual diagnosed adolescents. It was here that she developed an intense curiosity for understanding the practical applications of behavioral therapy, life skills programs, and emotion regulation.

In 2001 Venessia moved to Johnson County, TX where she became an aid in a Life Skills class working to meet the needs of students with IDD or mental health difficulties. In 2006, Venessia came to the realization that she wanted to do more for those in her community that struggled with mental health diagnoses and decided to begin her educational journey towards becoming a Licensed Therapist. She soon began attending a local community college and subsequently completed her Bachelor of Science (BS) in Psychology at Letourneau University.

In 2008, during her graduate program internship, Venessia worked with two non-profit organizations that provided support for substance abuse and addiction as well as community outreach to those with a criminal history. In 2015 she was awarded a dual Masters of Art in Licensed Professional Counseling & Marriage and Family Therapy. After obtaining an additional certificate in Professional Life Coaching Venessia then began a slow transition into individual family and marriage counseling.

In 2019 Venessia found herself once again working for a non-profit organization which served children and families within the foster care and state adoption system. Venessia worked closely with the children as well as foster parents, adoptive parents, and school administrators to help manage behaviors which stemmed from abuse, grief, and trauma.

Having worked with so many different populations, Venessia remains passionate and committed to working with individuals that suffer life interruption due to mental health barriers and a lack of community support. Venessia is personally aware of the severe lack of resources and education available to those with mental health barriers who may be struggling to obtain a better quality of life. In recognizing the ongoing need that individuals and families require Venessia has since opened her own private practice where she continues to provide inclusive mental health services to all members of her community.
